a yearly inspection and a flushing procedure for proper operation, unit longevity, warranty adherence, and to eliminate scale and lime buildup of the heat exchanger. Replacement of the heat exchanger due to scaling is not covered by Rinnai warranty.*
A certified Debard Plumbing technician will inspect all components, flush the heat exchanger, clean control compartments, burners, and air circulating passageways. Flushing your tankless water heater once a year is the most important maintenance practice for optimal performance, warranty adherence, and can help extend its lifespan for many years. When scale buildup in the heat exchanger begins to affect the performance of the water heater a diagnostic code "LC#" will display on the temperature control panel. Flush the heat exchanger to prevent damage to it. Scale buildup is caused by hard water and can be accelerated if the unit is set at a high temperature.
